These days, insanely busy schedules are the new norm. Despite how exhausting “everydayathons” can be, so many people are having trouble sleeping at night.

It’s difficult to wind down at the end of the day when there are a flurry of thoughts moving through your head. And this anxiety contributes to sleeplessness, which in turn increases stress levels. Yet the key to making busy days more bearable is getting more shut-eye every night.

If you’re having trouble falling asleep, try creating a bedtime routine that sets your mind and body up for a good night’s sleep. Take an evening walk, do some calming yoga, drink chamomile tea, read a good book, or listen to relaxing music. Block out any lights that could disrupt your sleep patterns, such as alarm clocks, mobile devices and street lamps.
